MR. WILLIAM RALPH SELGERT

SELGERT, MR. WILLIAM RALPH "BILL" Spring Lake Mr. William R. "Bill" Selgert, age 69, died Thursday, September 3, 2009. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 18, 1940 to Rudolph & Mary (Newlon) Selgert and served his country in the National Guard. Bill married the former Marguerite Ramthun on November 25, 1973 and had been employed as a Machinist at Oldberg Manufacturing for 22 years until the company closed. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed reading and White Sox baseball. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler & outdoorsman. But foremost was always his family and friends. SURVIVORS Wife of 35 years, Marguerite; son, Will (Lori Hansen) Selgert, both of Spring Lake; sisters, Mary Ellen (Jack) Webber of Grand Rapids, Barb O'Shaughnessy of Spring Lake, Lorrie (Al) Kortman of Grand Haven; several nieces & nephews; brother-in-law, Jim (Bev) Ramthun of Whitehall; sister-in-law, Jeanette Scheffler of Ann Arbor. He was preceded in death by his parents & sister, Patricia Diedrich. SERVICE Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 1 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church of Grand Haven with Rev. Dieter Haupt officiating. VISITATION Monday, 6-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Fruitport. MEMORIAL: St. John's Lutheran Church.
